DPG Comments on Death of bin Laden

** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE **

May 2, 2011

Dignitary Protection Group, LLC would like to commend the United States intelligence community and armed forces for yesterday’s action resulting in the eventual death of the world’s “most wanted” terrorist, Usama bin Laden.

It’s news for which many have waited nearly 10 years and has reverberated around the world literally overnight. But when asked if the death of bin Laden meant the end of terrorism as we have come to know it, DPG’s Managing Partner Doug Runyon responded, “absolutely not.”

“In fact,” Runyon went on to say, “quite the contrary. In the short term, his death might very well be the catalyst for an increase in terrorist activity…and those people and places with ties to the United States will likely be the targets.”

The U.S. State Department has issued a worldwide travel alert warning U.S. citizens traveling and/or residing abroad of the enhanced potential for anti-American violence given the recent counter-terrorism activity in Pakistan.

Dignitary Protection Group, LLC not only echoes the foreign travel advice of the U.S. State Department, but also is urging its domestic clients to exercise a heightened state of awareness and preparedness during this time of uncertainty.
