Jim Floyd
Jim Floyd, M.Ed is the Director of Training for Dignitary Protection Group, LLC. Highly regarded as the "instructor's instructor," Jim brings more than 25 years of public safety and adult education, training and instructional design experience to the classroom. He is renowned for his ability to make complex information understandable and for his interactive approach to learning facilitation. Mr. Floyd is a published author and was most recently a contributor to "Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, Ninth edition" by the AAOS.
Jim's previous experience is widely varied and includes law enforcement officer, criminalistics specialist, Indiana Law Enforcement Academy adjunct staff instructor, and private investigator. He also possesses extensive knowledge and experience in multiple areas, including wilderness medicine, human anatomy, personal protection, firearms, edged weapons and meteorology. In addition to his advanced academic degree, Mr. Floyd holds multiple instructor certifications, including: Police and Civilian Defensive Tactics Instructor, NRA Firearms Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, Utah BCI Concealed Firearm Instructor, ASP Tactical Baton Instructor, Kubotan (r)/Mini-Flashlight Instructor, Chemical Aerosol Spray Instructor-Trainer, Edged Weapons Instructor, Tactical Handcuffing Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Emergency Medical Technician and Instructor, and is an instructor in several styles of martial arts.
Doug Runyon
Doug Runyon is Managing Partner of Dignitary Protection Group, LLC. He has worked in the security/law enforcement field for more than 20 years leading numerous protective security details, including those of dignitaries, executives, athletes and celebrities. Doug is the course developer and Lead Instructor for DPG's Executive Protection and Dignitary Protection courses and has taught both in-house students, as well as those in the law enforcement, military and corporate security communities.
Doug is currently commissioned as a sworn Special Deputy with the Vigo County (IN) Sheriff's Department. He is a graduate of numerous dignitary/executive protection programs, including those given by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), S2 Institute and Executive Protection Institute (EPI). Doug is a member of ASIS, National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS), International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP), North American Bodyguard Association (NABA) and International Association of Certified Protective Operations Managers (IACPOM).
Josh Lee
Josh Lee is DPG's Director of Protective Services with more than 8 years of security/law enforcement experience. He is currently assigned to a personal security team for the Saudi Royal Family and has worked protection details for a Fortune 400 family, one of the nation's top automotive industry contractors, the Colgate Company and various country music recording artists. Additionally, Josh is an Associate Instructor for DPG's Executive Protection and Dignitary Protection courses.
Josh is commissioned as a sworn Special Deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department. He is a graduate with honors, achieving the credential of Certified Protection Specialist (CPS) from Executive Security International, while also receiving training as a Solo Protection Agent from the International Academy of Executive Protection Agents. In addition, he is a graduate of Tony Scotti's Vehicle Dynamics Institute's Protective Driving program. Josh is also a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute (EPI) and a member of Nine Lives Associates (NLA).
Aaron Edwards
Aaron Edwards, like the other DPG staff members, possesses a wide range of skills and knowledge. A graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, he is currently completing the requirements for a Master of Science degree in Counterterrorism and National Security Studies. Aaron is a certified Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician, a certified Indiana Search and Rescue Technician, and holds numerous certificates from governmental and private agencies in emergency response, including a Certificate in Public Health Preparedness and the prestigious Professional Development Series Certificate from FEMA. Mr. Edwards is certified as a National Rifle Association Firearms Instructor, as an Apprentice Instructor in Filipino Kali-Silat, and as a CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid Instructor.
